Additional information

Product Introduction

Closed-Cell Perlite is a high-performance hollow spherical material made from selected perlite ore that undergoes complex chemical and physical changes at temperatures exceeding 1000°C. These changes form a small, hollow spherical powder with excellent dispersibility and flowability. Closed-cell perlite is primarily used in fireproof coatings, insulation materials, polymers, and adhesives due to its lightweight, fire-resistant properties and its ability to improve the flow characteristics of the materials it is added to.

Main Features

  • Smooth and dense particle surface with closed pores, non-absorbent
  • Porous internal structure with excellent thermal insulation properties
  • High purity in chemical composition, inorganic
  • Lightweight, lower density than ordinary expanded perlite
  • High compressive strength, stable structure
  • Corrosion-resistant, non-aging

Application

  • Fireproof Coatings: Closed-cell perlite is ideal for use in fireproof coatings due to its high melting point (≥1400°C) and excellent fire resistance properties. It helps in enhancing the fire-retardant capability of intumescent coatings.
  • Thermal Insulation & Acoustic Materials: The hollow structure of closed-cell perlite makes it an outstanding thermal insulator and soundproofing material, widely used in building insulation, industrial equipment insulation, and acoustic panels.
  • Polymers & Adhesives: Closed-cell perlite helps to reduce viscosity and improve the flowability of polymers and adhesives, making it easier to work with and enhancing the final product’s performance.
  • Wood-Plastic Composites (WPC): Closed-cell perlite is used as a filler in WPC manufacturing to reduce the overall weight of the material and enhance mechanical properties such as strength and durability.
  • Composite Materials: In aerospace, automotive, and marine industries, closed-cell perlite is used to reduce the density of composite materials while maintaining or improving structural integrity, providing lightweight and strong composite solutions.
