New type perlite microspheres, also known as white cenospheres, are an upgraded alternative to traditional fly ash microspheres. Compared to fly ash-based cenospheres, the new perlite microspheres offer significant advantages such as lower cost, reduced thermal conductivity, and lighter bulk density. The cost is approximately one-third of traditional cenospheres, with a thermal conductivity as low as 0.055 W/m·K and a bulk density as low as 220 kg/m³. Chemically, these microspheres are composed mainly of silica (SiO₂) and alumina (Al₂O₃), providing properties such as hollow structure, lightweight, high strength, wear resistance, heat resistance, insulation, and flame retardancy. Their range of applications continues to expand across multiple industries.
